Rossignol Attraxion V 2008

Rossignol Attraxion V 2008

Carvey, stable and versatile. The new Attraxion V's have an assymetric construction so that you can switch them around for a different feel on the snow. Not yet tested but they sound an interesting pair of skis with the innovative assymetric sidecut that should be good for the experienced advanced skier looking for a stylish package that will allow them to ski a good mix of terrain and all the groomed runs.

The manufacturer says this about the Rossignol Attraxion V 2008:

High performance skis. If you love power turns and speed on trials whatever the snow conditions, these explosive, thoroughbred skis are for you. Their only limits are yours!

Rossignol Passion III chocolate 2008

Rossignol Passion III chocolate 2008

Easy-going all-terrain skis that will let you cruise around and progress onto reds and adventure onto the odd black. Aimed at the intermediate female skier with an eye for style the Passion III's come in two colour schemes- the more sumptuous chocolate and a cooler blue finish. With 70 mm underfoot and a forgiving flex there are not going to be any un-wanted surprises with the new Passion III.

A nice allround piste ski.

The manufacturer says this about the Rossignol Passion III chocolate 2008:

Do you want to learn to ski without pain? Do you want skis that do what you want rather than taking on a life of their own? Stop looking, these are what you need! Ideal for starting and fun from your very first steps.

Rossignol Bandit B78 2008

Rossignol Bandit B78 2008

The Rossignol Bandit B78 is the grandaddy of the modern allmountain ski. Not that this newest edition hasn't has a make over, to the contrary there has been a good deal of surgery and not just cosmetic to keep the B78 up there amongst the best all-mountain skis available. A wood-core, Shark Nose, Dualtec and the new Free beam construction the new B78 is smoother, grippier than ever and just as versatile. For the holiday skier heading out to the hills a couple of times a year this would be a great pair of skis. You can ride them all day long whether on the hardpack, in the bumps or the odd foray into powder. The B78 is a great pair of skis for the advanced skier, aspiring intermediate or lethargic expert- easy to use, versatile and can handle almost any situation. The only downside is a lack of life in short turns and if you are wanting to ski fast or hit the powder then you would be best advised to go for the B83 or an equivalent.

4.5/ 5

The manufacturer says this about the Rossignol Bandit B78 2008:

Absolute all-rounders....

Just as much at home on powder as hardpack. Ideal for getting off-trail from time-to-time.

Rossignol Attraxion XI Mutix 2008

Rossignol Attraxion XI Mutix 2008

The all-new and technology packed Attraxion XI Mutix is a capable piste carver with an aggressive sidecut for pure carving sensations on groomed snow. Although I have not tested this ski but the mens version it will probably suit women better due to their lighter weight as the ski does not have a particularly firm flex. The turn-in of the the XI Mutix is great and the sidecut really devours the first part of the turn, on the mens version it was the tail that lacked power and grip and it will be up to you guys to find out if you want a ski that is very tame and forgiving out of the turn- a good thing for less aggressive advanced skiers- or if you prefer a more powerful partner then perhaps go for the full-on and superb R11 Mutix.

The manufacturer says this about the Rossignol Attraxion XI Mutix 2008:

For all the excellent girl skiers who don't want to leave their femininity when they take to the trails. Attraxion XI Mutix has a very powerful motor which can be tuned at every moment to fit your mood with Mutix technology. Why ski with boys skis when skis for girls exist. Do your own thing!

Rossignol Bandit B78 Women 2008

Rossignol Bandit B78 Women 2008

Light, nimble, versatile and a great allround package for advanced to expert women looking for a one ski does it all package. due to their light weight and narrower profile the B78 Women is well suited to European snow where we have tended to experience firmer conditions but the 83 mm underfoot B83 is better for deeper snow and more advanced to expert skiers.

An excellent allround, allmountain package from the lengendary Bandit family of skis.

4/ 5

The manufacturer says this about the Rossignol Bandit B78 Women 2008:

Pure all-rounders. Designed for freeride. B78 will push you to let yourself go and ride mountains of pure emotion.

Rossignol Bandit B104 Squad 2008

Rossignol Bandit B104 Squad 2008

A mans pair of skis. These are the boards used by hard core skiers like the awe inspiring Manu Gaidet. Rock solid stability at speed to hammer through the less than perfect conditions of freeride competitions, the Squads are not for the faint hearted. An expert to pro only ski that will generally only be available in specialist stores these skis will take you to your limits and beyond. If they are good enough for the likes of Gaidet then they are good enough for anyone. Pure freeride performance for those with the best technical and physical levels.

5/ 5

The manufacturer says this about the Rossignol Bandit B104 Squad 2008:

Skis for riders dedicated to "Big Mountain". High float and very strong. Ultimate skiing.

Rossignol Bandit B83 2008

Rossignol Bandit B83 2008

The 83's look great in their new khaki livery. Sublte but puposeful this is really the essentail Rossignol Bandit for the majority of skiers. They are the most multi-purpose ski in the Rossignol box and they perform well in virtually all conditions- but like a car or many things in life if they are good in most aspects you can't expect them to be the most exilirating at any one aspect. So they are stable, fluid, float on powder, carve through crude or on groomers but when you wind the speed up, lay down the cloche and really get to business as an expert skier then the B83 may leave you wanting something more hearty. But for an allround allterrain then they are really one of the best and highly recommended and certainly better than most twin-tip allmountain pretenders.

4.5/ 5

The manufacturer says this about the Rossignol Bandit B83 2008:

A freeride model for skiers who understand that turns are the soul of skiing. Energetic under the feet, stoical in all snows.

Rossignol Bandit Respect 78 2008

Rossignol Bandit Respect 78 2008

The Bandit Respect 78 looks fantastic and is a well-rounded pair of ski tourers for those that love not only to walk up but are look forwards to an exhilirating decent. Light, stong and formed in the mould of the legendary bandit 78. If you are looking for a great pair of very skiable touring skis the 78's are up with the best in terms of practicality and looks.

5/ 5

The manufacturer says this about the Rossignol Bandit Respect 78 2008:

Skis built with the B78 structure. Lighter for climbing up but with a special downhill design. Strong and tough. Use these skis with touring bindings.

Rossignol Bandit Respect 94 2008

Rossignol Bandit Respect 94 2008

The Bandit 94's are a refreshing approach to touring skis. Unfortunately too many manufacturers make skis for touring with going uphill in mind when whats is the point of walking all that way if you're faced with a pretty poor experience even in great snow heading back down- surely it is only for woolly hat wearers or lycra clad randonee athletes who are more bothered about the uphill bit.
So the Bandit 94 address this problem by having a proper ski geometry and width to give you a real carve, good (and safe) levels of grip plus the width to float in deep powder. Strong and light this is a pair of skiers touring skis.

The manufacturer says this about the Rossignol Bandit Respect 94 2008:

Skis built with the B94 structure. Lighter for climbing up but with a special downhill design. Strong and tough. Use these skis with touring bindings.

Rossignol Blast 2008

The Scratch Ghto is Rossignol's latest pure park ski. They are crammed full of features to give you lots of pop, a smooth ride, the stability to stomp landings plus the lightness and agility to glide through the air or park.

Great for the purists.

Ultimate snowpark performance. Energy to spare, easy to ride, built to fly and really goes into orbit in snowparks.

Rules the X-Games with Andreas Hatweit.

Rossignol Scratch Girl BC 2008

Rossignol Scratch Girl BC 2008

With F.I.T. construction the new Scratch Girl BC is a pure backcountry freestyle/ride ski. A genuine twin-tip, wood construction and 90 mm underfoot this ski can spin, leap and go anywhere. As with the mens skis I would, unless you spend the majority of your time in the park, set the bindings to the rear of the two positions. The mid-mounting point really does through you over the front of the skis and isn't the best in powder or for crusining on-piste. Again the graphics for 2008 from Rossignol are very good and the finish on the Girl BC looks sweet.

For advanced to pro female skiers who know what they want and just need the tools to do it.

5/ 5

The manufacturer says this about the Rossignol Scratch Girl BC 2008:

Playgrounds were made for you. Playing with every bump with a touch of freestyle. With Scratch BC you not only open the door to the backcountry but on top of that you have a look right to the end of your tips.

Rossignol Strato 2 2008

Rossignol Strato 2 2008

2007 is Rossignol's centenary and to celebrate they have launched a range of retro skis mostly with a modern twist. The Strato 2 is fashioned after the orginal Strato''s from 1964 when Rossignol scored an international success with the world's first glass fiber skis.

The Strato 2's look great in the flesh and exude style and class. The ski itself is of a modern construction and sidecut and will prove a good allterrain ski for the advanced skier.

The manufacturer says this about the Rossignol Strato 2 2008:

Rossignol X-Fight 3 2008

Rossignol X-Fight 3 2008

The X-Fight 3 is fitted with Rossignol's integrated pressure system (IPS Y) distributes pressure to the outside edges at the tip of the ski and through the centre of the tail for a smooth finish to the turn. So with the added grip of the IPS at the tip the X-Fight 3 turns in slightly quicker and feels a little more aggressive on firmer snow for a stronger skier but the 3's remain very much in the faster intermediate or advanced skier.

4/ 5

The manufacturer says this about the Rossignol X-Fight 3 2008:

Modern, powerful and easy-running carving skis for going to the outer limits.

Rossignol X-Fight 4 2008

Rossignol X-Fight 4 2008

Aimed at the sporty intermediate with a love of speed the X-Fight 4 is boosted over its 5 sibling with a firmer flex, broader side-cut at the tail to give you a fraction more grip and Rossignol's VAS system for a smoother ride. Good for blue to red run cruising.

4/ 5

The manufacturer says this about the Rossignol X-Fight 4 2008:

The ideal gear for fast snakey conditions.
