Amplid Milo 2009

Amplid Milo 2009

Large "universal shredders." Amplid's kinda "all-mountain" ski for girls. Stylish and certainly aimed at freeskiing but I think you'd definitely be happier in the back-country with these babies opposed to attempting to "shred" a line on firm East Coast boiler-plate or European ice early in the season.
A great ski for the dedicated freerider and for when the conditions are great - you will be shredded alive though by someone on a regular pair of skis on a regular groomed run - but hey that's not where Amplid is aiming their "Universal" ski.

Not my choice for obliterating "untouched corduroy" but a fine freeride powder ski and as they are so light you could pop a touring binding on for some great back-country fun with a real pair of skis.

skireviews.co.uk rating: An awesome pair of womens freeskis, happiest in the deep, tolerable on the groomed but perhaps not quite "universal" at 95 mm underfoot!

The manufacturer says this about the Amplid Milo 2009:

„The Milo“ - WOMEN’S UNIVERSAL SHRED

This Venus might not hang at the Louvre, but that's the only compromise she'll
make. With specifically adapted female geometry, the Milo excels in variable
conditions, whether riding untracked freshies, getting air off kickers, or carving
untouched corduroy.
The biax-glass construction handles up well at higher speeds, yet it's still torsionally
soft enough to be pleasantly forgiving. Gold metallic surface details add a little
extra style.
Märta Ahrenstedt’s rider’s quote:
For backcountry kickers or just cruising through the untracked - the Milo is my first
choice outside the park or the pipe.
