Dynastar Altitrail Powder Skis 2008/09

Dynastar Altitrail Powder Skis 2008/09

Probably the best ski for the free-riders amongst you who want to ski tour but would rather ski on skis than toothpicks. The Altitrail Powder has all the lightweight attributes of the other Altitrail skis but with an 82 mm waist and wood core for tougher performance, more drive and bigger skiing thrills. Whilst a few hundred grams heavier per ski the Powder is not going to be that much more testing heading up hill unless you are going for a seriously extensive tour.

Citizen Ski rating: n/a

My choice from the Altitrail range for back-country ski touring.

The manufacturer says this about the Dynastar Altitrail Powder Skis 2008/09:

All the skis in the Alti range are built around
the same philosophy: uphill performance without compromising on
downhill skiability. Recreational and professional skiers alike will
find a product adapted to their level within this range.
The Alti Powder was created in line with this philosophy. As the first
«wide» backcountry ski, it has the best strength to weight ratio on
the market whilst still providing a great grip.

1 A blend of wood and acrylic makes the Alti range construction
lightweight, tough and high-performing during descent.
2 The Downhill Lock system guarantees a locked binding during
descent, preventing any risk of unwanted release.

Easy skiing on all types of terrain: Wide 82mm waist.
Unbelievable weight/skiability compromise.
Excellent edge grip: wood core and torsion box
Excellent skiability: Flex adapted to all-terrain skiing;
the perfect ski for freeriding, ski touring and
steep slopes
