Atomic Metron B5i 2008

Atomic, Metron, B5i, 2008

Top-of-the-line B5i construction for the ultimate Metron. Atomic packs in the technology and radical desing into the Metron range and the B5i has it all. Very curvaceous with a 131-76-115mm sidecut gives the expert skier dimensions in a ski only see in Pamela Anderson in a person. They are versatile but they are a handful and take some getting used to- not least for your pocket becasue this ain't a cheap pair of skis.
The ride is smooth although the B5 pistons can be felt flexing when you push hard and it is not a natural material flex but one that is like that of a mountain bike where you would like to tailor the flex to suit you wieght and ability- maybe thats something they will introduce in the future. If you like a radical carver but also like to hit the backcountry then you will probably enjoy the Metron B5, for me I enjoy trying them once a year to sdee how the concept has progresswed- and they have since the original heavy-weight models, but I am not sure how much I would want a pair as my dedicated daily ski- perhaps the slightly more aggressive and longer turning 11 B5c would be better suited.

The manufacturer says this about the Atomic, Metron, B5i, 2008:

The all-rounder for the ultimate in skiing enjoyment and high-speed carves. For all snow-conditions and every terrain. With proven B5 techonolgy and its Power Channels which function like shock absorbers in a car or suspension forks in a bike.
