Volkl Bridge Skis 2008

Volkl Bridge Skis 2008

A re-design of the core brings a new Bridge for 08/09. The chaps from Volkl were very excited by the Bridge last year and it proved hugely successful as it really is a go anywhere ski. The new core featuring "Multi Layer" technology hones the Bridges power reserves so it provides improved grip on firm snow and strength from the "hard woods" used underfoot for tricks in the park.

The Bridge is a multi-purpose ski designed to span the gap between traditional groomed run skiing and the new skool movement of park, pipes and backcountry.

As with last years Bridge the sidecut is a bit more aggressive than with many freestyle skis and this feels good on-piste, they are willing to turners and the new core feels livelier than last season which left me feeling a little uninspired at times.

Excellent all-rounders with a fresher graphic for 08/09, perfect for back-country freeride/style, park skiing and ok on general cruising about the hill. With 92 mm underfoot they are always going to be best in the back-country or in soft, deep snow conditions. A pair of skis to see on the feet of bar-working seasonaires.

The manufacturer says this about the Volkl Bridge Skis 2008:
